A
misty late November night and Joseph was making his entrance
into the world.
As
quickly as we could we set off to Preston and the hospital
where he had been born, meeting up with his paternal grandparents
who had travelled up from the South of England.
Our
new grandson was ' delicious ' all you wanted to do
was cuddle him.
Since
that day Alan and I (plus Katie the dog ) have made regular
visits seeing him grow and being part of his life, which is
so special to us.
Sarah
and Jim now live at Brightons and we are regularly on the
train from Darlington (our home) and we see Joseph as often
as we can.
What
fun it is being part of his growing up and what a personality
he has - but then I suppose you could say we are slightly
prejudiced.
Life
for us is very dull and quiet when we return home. And
we don't have Lego either just the TV!!!!
One
of the pleasure of being grandparents is that you are allowed
to spoil them a little and many a white chocolate button has
been shared on our afternoon walks. - please don't tell mum!
Soon
Joseph will be 2 years old and how fast time has gone.
Not only is he so chatty (no swearing allowed in the house
now, just in case ) he is also in training for the next Olympic
Games so fast does he race around the house.
Well,
it won't be too long, I hope, before we are on the train once
again ( we should get discount from GNER ) and then we will
spy that blonde curly head and that cheeky smile - believe
me being grandparents is fun.
